Is Any One Using Google Page Creator?

Is anyone else on the forum using Google Page Creature? If so, what do you think of it? It took about 2 week before I got accepted. But it’s been very time consuming just to make a few pages. It would be great if you could ftp. I’m use to using Dreamweaver. Took me no time to whip up a forum to go with the site. But haven’t had time to post anything. Maybe there’s improvements to come with Google Page Creature. Right now it’s free so I get what I pay for.

You can see the site at

  • Thank you! The best I understand it's not Public yet. It's still in the Beta testing stage. So I had to send in my google email address and wait. See if they would give me a spot.
  • Your page looks great, size & color are good. I use a mac & mozilla. Many times pages that look good elsewhere don't look so good here. Not the case.
  • Those prices and shipping seem a bit steep. Just my opinion, of course.

I'll only quote one of the three... image

It depends on what the shipping includes. If that includes Priority Mail or well padded packaging and full insurance, then the charges are fine. If it's just dropping a 2x2 into a #10 envelope, then you're correct, that's too high.

As far as the coin prices, some do seem high, but at least one of them was quite reasonable in my eyes, so I bought it. image

As a seller you never know if your prices are too high or too low until you put them out there. Sales will dictate whether you raise or lower your prices. What is expensive for some is cheap for others.

You've heard the old adage "I'd never join a club that would have me as a member." Adjust it as follows:

"I'd never buy coins at the prices I sell them." image

(To a certain extent, if you're ever going to make a profit, it has to be true...)
  • Thank you for your purchase "coinpictures".

Thanks for the advise as well. I have cheap coins up at Ebay
But some of those on the site are from my personal collection. So of course that's going to figure into the price. In addition
how avaliable they are and in what condition. Priority shipping, Gas, Tissue paper, and so on. When you break it all down
there very little profit compared to the price I spent to get the coin. It's all personal taste.

Some (hopefully) constructive criticism on the Ebay store:

    1. Nice pictures. You should do well with that level of quality.

    2. I wouldn't put estimated arrival times for the various shipping methods, because you really are at the mercy of the USPS on that, and the shipping times vary WILDLY. The last thing you need is for a buyer to say "Well YOU said it would be here in 4-7 days". Just another headache.

    3. "Insurance Optional, but recommended. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items if not insured." Well actually you ARE responsible. At least according to PayPal's terms. Just be aware that if an item does not arrive PayPal will not care whether or not the buyer purchased insurance or not. They WILL get their money back. Insurance ultimately protects the seller. I know a lot of people use these terms and conditions, and I used to as well, but I decided that it was better policy to simply insure all packages by default. No grey areas. No misunderstandings.

    4. In your auction description you say insurance is optional, but at the bottom of the page it says that insurance is mandatory. Also, you are upcharging on insurance. This is seen very negatively by many Ebay buyers.

    5. A no-return policy would scare me away, especially as adamantly as you have stated it. For bulk lots, yes I can see haveing a "no return" policy. But for single items, I think you need to allow returns. Why? Coin photography and scanning is a tricky thing. Coins always look different in hand than they do in pictures; you can only hope to minimize the differences. Tampering, damage, evidence of cleaning, etc. may only become evident upon receipt of the coin. Also, what if the coin is counterfeit, which may not be apparent until the coin is weighed? You won't accept a return? (this is one of the reasons I asked about the coin I purchased in a PM earlier this morning... which still hasn't been answered.. hint... hint image)

To date I've probably sold 50 or so coins in the month+ I've had my store open. One return thus far, and the buyer wasn't upset, and happily paid the shipping both ways. The more doors you leave open for buyers in the event that they're unhappy with the merchandise, the more likely they are to buy from you, especially since coin grading and photography is so subjective...
