I'm going to take you step by step through this insanity!

NGC PR69 2000 Proof Platinum $10 madness...

THIS FLAWLESS BEAUTY DOESN,T NEED NO EXPLANATIONS!!!!
Actually, flawless would be PR70 Ultra Cameo, and since you didn't mention "tenth oz" or $10" in the auction description, it does need some explanations.

RAREST COIN OF RAREST KEA YEAR , US PLATINUM SET--2000W !!!!!!!
Really? Well, to swipe from EricJ, here's the proof platinum mintages....

With a mintage of 15,600, the 2000 proof $10 isn't even close to the rarest.

Err, is that American or Liberian dollars? Here's one that sold for
under $2100.

Ummm, are you talking about NGC pop reports? How many were graded PR70? Heck, PCGS alone has graded 484 PR69DCAM, but most proof platinum collectors (myself included) prefer the look of the original packaging and COA to some cold slabbing company.

Not to mention that since this auction is for a 1997-W (not a 2000-W), it looks like it's actually the most common year.

This may not be quite so far fetched as it sounds, but it's about the only reasonable statement in the entire auction.

I don't know if platinum will make $2100/oz. by the end of 2008, but I personally wouldn't be surprised by that at all if it does come to pass.

One thing I wouldn't bet against these days and in the next couple of years are precious metals.
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."
