I've never dealt with him, but I've heard good things about him, especially his raw stuff.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • I've bought from him, some raw stuff. Seems like a good guy, only takes checks/mo I think. Overall, I believe his grades are about .5 grade higher than how PSA would grade them, but he is fairly consistent, and that's a ton better than just about every other raw seller. I see he is selling a bunch of PSA graded cards now. I guess he saved his best to get graded himself.

I've bought from him a few times and he's solid. Sometimes the card's a bit weaker than estimated grade but usually it's pretty accurate. I bought a nice high grade '68 set from him a few years back. It was pretty much as advertised.
  • Fred is an excellent seller.
