US Mint Sellout Question

Every year I order a proof silver eagle, proof set and silver proof set. To save on shipping this year I am thinking of waiting until the silver proof set comes out in May and order them all together then. Do you think that the proof silver eagles and proof sets will sell out by May? I can't seem to remember how quick these sell out.

Thanks
Steve

I don't think you will have a problem executing that plan.
  • Those items don't have mintage limits so you should be OK. I usually do a similar thing (though with different products).

It sounds like a reasonable approach.
But, 'ya know, sometimes trying to save $4.95 postage leads to
heartache in the end. Don't take the chance.
I have been thinking that with silver increasing, the mint rather than
increasing their prices for their current offerings, may cut back on
silver production, to reduce their loss, if any.
I really don't know if that's any kind of a reasonable assumption, tho... image

It has been my experience that most of these can be purchased from reputable dealers for a small premium($2).

Given the problems I am having and have had with the Mint's customer service, website, and order processing, I would order every product separate every time. When an order gets flubbed, it doesn't sink the whole plan.

Another way to reduce shipping is find a friend or friends and make a combined order. One of the guys from work and I just ordered our proof sets together. And it only toke me one minute to place the order.
