i was planning on going. i previewed the lots at baltimore and wasnt too impressed to make the trip down. the proof set is completely original and all, but lacks a lot of pop.

If someone attends, I'd love to hear a report on the bidding for the 1876 proof set. That's a real wowzer!

as i said before, the set is totally original and in great shape. however, imo, it lacks a lot of pop prob. from the storage conditions.

Anyone interested in this auction better read the feedback and all of their terms and conditions.

Im in the city, so I will be popping by tomorrow. I am mainly interested in the medals, but there is some other stuff I will be scoping out.

A friend of mine who hits big auctions all the time saw the 1876 pf set first hand, and pretty much said what Nick did.

and pay heed to what lava just saidimage

it is a shame that the proof set wasnt stored in proper conditions. if the coins has more flash i would expect a much higher realized price
