Hi all,
2 quick q's on sport cards. 1. Sometimes i get an insert card that looks the same as standard issue but the back will have in gold type
345/2005 2. Again a card that looks like standard issue but is much thicker than regular cards. What are these called? Thanks in advance.

In 2001, topps started making a gold subset of the base set. Hence, there was a gold version numbere 0321/2001. In subsequent years, the subset increased by one, and in 2005, the gold version was numbered xxxx/2005. The cards are the same as the regular, only gold and more shiney on the front. I'm not sure what else you would have numbered to 2005 without more information.
As for thicker cards that are identical, there is a Bronze version, one per pack, in products like 2005 Bowman football. Those cards are completely identical, yet thicker than the base version and really doesn't carry much of a premium in my experience.
Again, just a guess on what you might have. If you give me the year and product of what you have, I or someone else here could probably help you out more.

Thx for the info..... heres a card for example: 2005 Topps Update & Highlights UH313 Ryan Braun 0999/2005
I don't have a thick stock card handy but i believe they appear to be same as initial card but with a thicker stock. When i posted, the name i was thinking of escaped me but i'm thinking parallel cards. I forgot what they meant by parallel.
Thanks.......Karl
