A Roosevelt dime for sale on ebay "dropped letter d". Is this error for real? I thought there were very few error coins i the Roosevelt series.

    It's not the best pictures, but I don't see any reason to doubt it's real. Dropped letters are akin to strike throughs. They're slightly showier, and somewhat rare from a strict numbers sense, but they're not really in demand. I'd say that they seller's starting price is optimistic by a factor of 10x or more.
