Osborne house is where the announcement was made upon the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.

    Thanks Shep, I have some more that I will post soon that are equally interesting, I think. Including a German , large Copper Victoria commem , dated 1897. I have also placed several in my photo album(sig line) that have not been posted here yet, if you would like a preview, all the info is with the photos. At least most of themimage


    I got this one from Australia, without the usual cleaning done to the pieces from there.

    Wow. Never seen that one before. It looks, to my uneducated eye, to be more recent than 1901-ish because of the design in general, and the reverse elements specifically. The obverse has design elements in common with Conder Tokens I've seen, but that reverse is sure different.

    Auld--- I do have some modern victoria medals and they have dates as late a 1969. This piece however does not have any dates other than those seen. I think it is a period piece that has been very well maintianedimage
