What's up with htis market and teletrade

A 1942 Walker in PF62 (PCGS) sells for $425 + juice (around $475) which is near PF64 money, while at the same time a 1941 Walker in NGC PF67 goes wanting (unsold) at $850.

Seems kind of odd, but we know the the 41 Walker is most likely theirs. Even for a proof set filler, the PF62 seems high.

Crazy!!!

Amost every lot I tracked went unsold. I bought two lots and maybe 4-5 others sold. Over 75% went unsold.

Unfortunately, I'd say this is not that unusual on Teletrade, though I admit haven't been active there for a long time. Your post reminds of some of the reasons that I became disenchanted. Too many manipulated auctions, too many "dog" coins for the grade, too many items with blind reserves, some of which might be owned by the house. That leaves what seems like few nice coins that are actually for sale at a reasonable price with no way of telling which they are before the bidding starts. The sales tax broke the camel's back for me. The additional hikes to their commission and shipping that have taken place in the interim haven't helped.

I doubt the PF67 Walker could have been had for the next increment higher. The discouraging part is that no one knows, making many bids a flat out waste of time and energy.

For beginners reading along, I see more negatives with the current Teletrade than I see positives.

I gave up after the first half hour. Everything is selling like they are pq for the grade. A dirty silver coin gets labeled as toned and sells like it has fantastic target toning or rainbows. image

I will never deal with TT again...the take pictures that hides flaws on coins and dont describe them properly...and then charge lots of money on a return...

    Never....ever again.

I haven't bothered with them in over 5 years. A smart man who knows the drill can get twice the return for his money on eBay.

I bought a couple of coins after a hiatus, one was right on with the photo and the other I am awaiting a CC 78 Morgan that might be a VAM. I bought if for less than retail and has some nice toning. Here is my take, with the changes that have occurred you are seeing some nicer coins, but something is odd about the pricing. Either you believe a lot of folks are over paying or they have extremely high reserves, but not unlike the other major auction sites. I wonder how many of those coins are there own. The bargain days are over on their site as far as I can tell. It used to be a good site to buy flippers to put on Ebay. I don't see that any more.
