Another Ebay Experience

Okay, so I sold a few of my alternate/seconds Jeffersons on the Bay of E.

Out of 21 coins, 20 sold very quickly for decent prices (some to board members)...

The final coin, sold on the 18th... I sent out a Ebay Invoice on the 18th... no reply... no nothing.

I sent out another invoice today, kinda in a check that I actually sent the first invoice, but to give the buyer another friendly reminder...

And then I get this reply:

"Good morning,

I will be paying for this via pay pal………………………gee auction closed on what the 18th today is the 20th and I have already received 2 invoices? Are we pushing abit? It states we have 7 days for payment and as a rule I pay my auctions on Tues and Wed of each week to make sure all my auctions over weekend are paid for."

Now, just to make sure I correct this in the future auctions... the 7 day payment option is for those sending checks... not Paypal.

Please tell me if I'm wrong, but the only reason why I resent the invoice was because I hadn't heard from the buyer at all... nothing...

But to then reply... he'll wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to pay... just sounds really strange to me.

I guess I should be glad he even replied to me at all.

Steve

I would say you were a little quick on the second notice. Some folks could be away from their computer for a few days. I would give them a tad more time to respond.

Two days is far too soon to send a second invoice.

Okay... Thanks for your responses... I don't normally sell anything on Ebay... I just buy.

So many people paid so quickly... just thought it was strange.

    Peace!

With all due respect, I agree with the buyer on this one.

As a seller, I often get paid via Paypal on the Thursday after an auction ends. Granted most buyers pay within 24hrs but I acknowledge that somes collectors on are a week to week budget and pay their bills on payday.

If you want immediate payment then set up your listings as such.

Most will pay quickly, but it's rare that you won't have a straggler or two from a sizable group of auctions.
