OT - anyone have any experience with Western Union transfers
I sell some minor coins on a European based auction site, and the majority of buyers are European (mostly French & Belgian). I got an e-mail from a bidder, wanting to know about a larger purchase, and asked would I take a Western Union transfer. I never have, so I know nothing about them. Anyone know how it works?? I am off the the WU site now, to do some investigating.

It's pretty easy. The buyer will email you a transaction #. Go down to your local WU with a photo ID and the transaction # and pick up your cash. No cost for you.
It went Ok and I picked up the cash at a local Safeway grocery store.
I had to figure out which combination of his 4-word Spanish name he used on the transfer.

With Bidpay they would mail me a money order that I can deposti at my bank no problem.
Once they actiually saved me from a scam artist, they reversed the charge on my credit card and stopped payment on the money order to the scam artist.
So I think they work real good.

Same experience here too - have a customer based in Russia who regularly pays via this method.
