here is a grinding stone

this next piece is either some kind of cerimonial stone sword or a salmon club, not sure as this was all that was found of it.

I have another picture of some arrowhead's but am having a problem getting them downloaded,so as soon as I figure that out I will post them.

  • Nice photos Tom!

Well here in the Buckeye state we tend to lump the first one into a group we call "Oregon Gem Points" because there are sooo many different varieties. It prolly has a a local name like something Mesa, or something platuea(spelling?) or something like that.
A nice obsidian point no matter what it is called!

Excellent scraper and the bowl is outstanding!!

Good example of a pestle or grinder there as well!

This is interesting! Possibly a highly developed pestle or an effigy of some sort. Possibly a phallic symbol?
    Cool find!!

After looking at it some more I would lean towards a highly developed pestle.

  • Knew you would like them, still messing around with the other photo but will get it together and post it.
All right that first arrowhead is only about 2 yr's old,my Dad made that one.He did some reading on it and got some obsidian and started practicing. He did all the work on them just the way they would have made them back then.He also made a few spear point's and a few other arrowhead's.
All the other's I posted are the real deal, plus the arrowhead's that I will get posted.HH,Tom

  • He did a heck of a job knapping that one!
I tried knapping flint once and came to the conclusion I would have been a starving indian in prehistoric times.image
