Mercury Dime Lunacy

Hi, Everyone.

I found this auction on Ebay. Get this:

FREE PCGS 1943-D MS66-FB MERCURY DIME SLAB WITH THE PURCHASE OF 75 DIMES THAT'S RIGHT A PCGS SLAB WITH EVERY 75 DIMES BUY 150 AND RECEIVE 2 PCGS SLABS AND SO ON.................

The seller is selling the dimes for $6 a pop. So, if you buy $450 worth of his dimes, you get a PCGS slab for your trouble. (Notice, he doesn't even say you get a coin in the slab.)

All I can say is, hats off to him or her for their ingenuity.

(And check out his feedback.)
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

  • Most(if not all) will be common date '40's mercs which are really not worth much of anything in these fictitious *BU* states that eBay sellers come up with. For the same $450 you could probably put together the whole short set in PCGS MS66(or get close to it) and actually have *BU* mercs. Even then you've got to cherrypick those coins in PCGS holders as there are some dogs in them there plastic thingys. image
