Crooked coin in PCGS holder...What to do?

I have a 1936 Texas Commem PCGS MS66 that looks beautiful, except that when PCGS put the coin in the holder they placed it in crooked and slightly turned to one side. It really takes from the look of this beautiful coin. I saw someone else post a pick of a nice MS64 Lincolin S VDB that was holdered the same way. If there are two identical PCGS holdered coins side by side and one is placed in the holder perfect and one is slightly crooked, which one do you think everyone is going to buy. Is there anything you can do about this besides having it reholdered? Does PCGS take accountability for these mistakes? It really pisses me off consideringn the amount we pay in fees. It should be considered a "mechanical error" and fixed for free.

Bang the side of the slab on a hard counter top. It will cause the coin to turn in the holder. You'll be able to tell which side to bang by watching the coin.

or you can just tap one corner of the slab on a hard surface and the coin will rotate in the slab. experiment with the way that the coin rotates and you can straighten up in the slab with no problem.

I set a paperback book on a hard surface and tap the corner instead of tapping it directly on the hard surface.

What everyone else said- I tap them on a note pad. You'll find that tapping the lower right corner will rotate the coin in one direction & tapping the lower left corner will turn it the other way.
  • You're saying because it was placed lop-sided it can't turn; if that's the case just send it back and they'll reholder it.

I like the tapping idea. Don't know if that works. Never tried it. but I know when I break out coins from a PCGS slab they are really tight in a rubbery type of washer. I like those washers. I use them to hold the workings of a clock mechanism in place. Don't know if anyone out ther builds clocks from the Klockit equipment, but those washers work great. I was going to write PCGS for some of them. As to the coin turning, try tapping it as everyone says. Be carefull. If you dent or badly damage the slab, they will reject the fixing for free.

I've rotated about 25 coins by tapping sharply on a pad of post it notes. They move with a bit of persistence.
