The Canadian Coin Certification Service CCCS

ajaanajaan Posts: 17,454 ✭✭✭✭✭
If someone is looking for an alternative to ICCS to grade and certify their Canadian coins, I recommend CCCS. Especially if you want conservative grading. Their customer service is top notch* and fees are very reasonable, especially if you submit 10 or more coins. And they have a website!!!!!!

*emails are answered quickely and politely. I had them misattribute a coin, brought it to their attention, they corrected the problem and gave me 10 free submissions to 'make things right'.

CCCS Remember, prices are in Canadian Dollars.

I ship the coins via Registered Mail in an envelope. I put the coins in a Safe-T-Mailer type mailer. There is a risk involved in that they can only be insured for $44.85 but I have never lost a Regisitered Mail item to Canada. I also enclose a letter that simply states that the coins are for service and will be returned to me, the owner. CCCS didn't have to pay any customs on the coins I sent.

The coins are shipped back via Registered Mail, C$15 is the return shipping fee. I've never had a problem getting a Registered Mail item from Canada.
