1977 s MS70 Nickel

I have a 1977 s Jefferson that was graded MS70 by ICG but actually seems to be an MS70 coin. What should I do? Is it worth sending it to PCGS? The holder has some scratches but the coin is PERFECT!!!

Chance of it going from ICG to PCGS 70 is virtually zero, from what I've heard.

No, not really! But it looks flawless and I have looked at it for hours.

Look under a loupe. Any nicks, marks, or hairlines, will automatically knock it of "perfection".

Yes, by PCGS definition.

Isn't it kind of hard to look thru the holder under a loupe? Is there a trick to it?

All 1977-S nickels should be proof.

send the igc graded pf70 coin in to pcgs they will give it a pf68 or pf69, igc is known as a mass grader of pf70's they have almost no real market value as a result.

That's what I was thinking--PCGS is highly unlikely to give out a 70DC, even if the coin is deserving. Don't waste your money; a 69 isn't worth it.

HRH has said, I do believe, that they won't give a PR70/MS70 as a crossover.....the holder "may hide imperfections or problems". Kind of valid. So, if you want to attempt it, don't do it in the holder.
Now, having said that, I agree with the others and would say it likely isn't worth it anyway
