Coin shows

Guess I'm getting a little tired of coin shows or just to old. Just got back from another coin show. There is at least 2 a Month around here every month. Today there was 2 the same day so I went to the closest one which is about 10 miles away. Last weekend the show I went to was about 12 miles away. Lots of driving just for a coin show, huh? I got to this one early as I usually do and commented to a few dealers how empty the place was. Then as if to make a liar out of me dealers and buyers appeared to come out of the walls. The place got really crowded. Same thing happened last weekend at the other show. Are people following me? Said Hi to a few of the dealers that are members here and hope they had a great day. Just when I was about to leave due to the crowds I found a dealer that had coins really cheap and ones I didn't need but wanted. I go to shows with a NEED list and seldom look at it. Bad eye sight. Spent close to $1,000 on a few Standing Liberty halves, Flying Eagle Cents, Buffalo Nickels and one more 1909S VDB. The VDB was a PCGS graded VF30.
Here is something interesting. Got home and went to the garage to remove the coins that were in slabs. The Haves were in NGC slabs and the 09S VDB in the PCGS. The NGC slab was about 2 times thicker and fell apart with just one corner sliced off with a saber saw. The PCGS took three sides to be removed to open the thing.

Carl, you should be happy for all the coin shows. I have a coin show calendar for Oregon and there are NONE for 2006

If you are getting tired of coin shows just dont go to all of them. Choose the ones you like best. It will save your strength and energy and you will enjoy the show more if it doesnt feel like a chore to be there.

You obviously don't understand. Coin shows are addictive. If they are there, they must be visited.

I know Oregon is large in area , but here are some coin shows .
Eugene on mar 25-26 , an annual show in Florence in august .
Oregon state fall show in september at the airport , and the Salem coin and stamp show in the fall . There may be others .

Hey Carl, I was at both shows with Marty today. We need to bump into each other one of these times. Come to Countryside in Apr. There were a few bargains/cool things to buy at each show. The Itasca one was a little better than usual.

Nice!!! There are 2 monthly shows near me. One is 35 miles away and the other 215.

I was kind of kidding about the distance. I do know I've got it made for short distances. At one coin show even closer to me there was a dealer from Texas. I pretended I didn't know where he was from and started to complain to him that I had to drive over 5 miles to get there. Had kind of a look like he wanted to kill me.
OK ChangeInHistory. I'll be at that Country Side show as I do every Month. If it keeps on getting bigger, I'll just get there earlier. Last Month it got hard to walk through the aisles due to the crowds. Maybe we can stop the advertisements about that show.
