crusty does not begin to describe that coin in that pic.
i have never really seen a darker one.

Dark, but the lighter devices make it work.
I had a Bust dime like that once- also a VF. Black, with lighter devices.
I wouldn't want a completely black coin, but those blackies with enough rub on the high points to create the "two-tone" effect are OK by me.

Looks like the coin was scanned and just set flat down on the glass. In person under light I doubt it is that dark.
Please... Save The Stories, Just Answer My Questions, And Tell Me How Much!!!!!
