Still a VAM 1B, but not worth the premium of the late die state scarface.
  • not worried about the premium just figured it would be the closest I would get to owning a "scarface" vam in this gradeimage maybe will start a mini collection looking for coins showing the progression of the die break

I like it too (and I'm trying to find one), because it would be a great companion piece to a full-blown Scarface.
    When in doubt, don't.

I think it was Ash Harrison (ashmore.com) who has brought such a nice set to SSDC/NSDR meetings a few times. You might check with him on approaching such a task. Getting the later die states may become quite difficult out of inavailability on the market and skyrocketing valuation on that competitively sought VAM. The set already assembled is certainly a good thing to see.

Did you folks see the one scarface that's around that some former owner had whizzed the scar to try to remove it and (at that time) make it more valuable? Oy Gevalt! Ash may have shown it to me. I know someone in the society had it.
