The "*" symbol for Ebay?

I used to use the "*" symbol in the search engine for Ebay and it would give me the absolute newest coins available or those ending the absolute soonest. It doesn't seem to be working anymore unless I use a search word along with the symbol. Has anyone else had this same problem and do you have a solution? Thanks.
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!

    As far as I know the "*" does not work for searches. I try searching for NGC star coins and it never works for me image

    I don't know if the * ever helped find the auctions ending soonest, or the latest listings, but ebay has the ability to sort your search results for either of those. Whether you have done a search, selected a catagory, or just gone to the Coins section and told it to show the items, there is a pull down menu above the Shipping column that lets you sort the results. Newly listed, ending soonest, by price, or whether they take Paypal.

    a blank search is the wild card for the category you are in.

    one should try to narrow it down from that.
    using -1999 etc..

    condor mentioned the drop down box i always used.
    remember to try the advanced search and tips.
