Cheerios Sacky on eBay - NO Bids ?

????
Could it be because the packaging looks opened? Why would someone even try to sell something like this?

The last one I bid on I think I bid 3500 and didn't make the reserve. It was MS68 and not attributed , but in a PCGS slab. To die for
I need a rich uncle !......normal obverse

<< <i>Well, he responded by referring me to the images he kyped from NGC.

You thinkin' hoax, Russ ?
Oooops... well disregard my statement earlier then. Like I did say, I'd find out behind the scenes. Thanks for that, Russ
<< <i>You thinkin' hoax, Russ ? >>
Yes, I think it's a scam.
Russ, NCNE
Personally, I like the addition of all the information, I prefer having it all out there, instead of having to take one persons word on potential rarity.
And, Russ, how would you have answered the question you posed any better? Would you have opened the pack, said, there it is, now let me tape it shut for our other bidders?
I commend Gemineye for seeing the obverse die marker, I can barely see the one on mine when Im holding it in my hand. If you notice right above the payment options, the seller does mention paying with Paypal.
I am kind of with 2Sides, I am tapped out because the girls bought that horse with my bonus check. I look at coins now with wistful eyes, knowing I have to wait, wait wait, while they ride ,ride ride.
I dont know if this is a scam, but it isnt a Blue Moon auction, thats a plus. That one picture might just be the angle of the flash, but it still looks unopened, because even if the plastic was completely peeled off the card, the coins would be in a sealed mint plastic compartment--I think we figured that out last time we discussed how these things were packaged.
Just my "2cents" as well
Russ
<< <i>If you notice right above the payment options, the seller does mention paying with Paypal. >>
<< <i>PAY WITH REGULAR PAYMENT THROUGH PAYPAL. >>
Translation: Cash only, no credit cards (aka no protection). In all his other auctions PayPal is listed as a direct payment option with no mention of "regular payment". Why the change for this auction? It wouldn't be the fees because if he has a personal account (no fees) he can't accept a payment this large, and if he has a premiere account the fees are charged regardless of funding source.
Russ, NCNE
same thing happened to me in a recent auction, I didnt have a Paypal, but I added it. Hate paying the extra fees but it got me some bidders. I am selling off all my old baseball and hockey cards to keep hay in that dang horse.

Looks OK to me.
Nice writeup. Even pictures one of my two coins.

<< <i>Note that in his other auctions he accepts PayPal, but strangely that is not an option for this one. I asked him for a large image of the reverse of the Sac. I predict a response of "Sorry, the batteries in my camera are dead."
Russ, NCNE >>
I would expect the response of "Sure let me break this out of its packaging so i can photograph the reverse of it" or even "Sure just tell me how to flip it over without opening the packaging" As for the paypal payment, I sold my car on ebay via paypal....I wish I didnt, they took $400 bucks in fees.
"a great question, thanks! for asking. Yes, I am able to accept a transfer payment through PayPal, using your personal checking account or a credit card for your convenience. Also, other forms of payment are, personal check and/or money order/cashier's check"
So Russ, get your credit card out--

I bought that PCGS MS68 and felt alot better seeing the coin in person before writing the check. Not so sure about this one, especially paying for it up front.

Yes, I think it's a scam.
Russ, NCNE >>
Sure it's not "a legitimate estate auction" as you described the biggest scam in Ebay history?
<< <i>LOL, you guys smell more scams...potentially.
And, Russ, how would you have answered the question you posed any better? Would you have opened the pack, said, there it is, now let me tape it shut for our other bidders?

O'mygosh. Are you suggesting that NCNE is not always right?
That's blasphemy ("profane or contemptious verbiage concerning God or anything held as divine")!!!!

Winning bid: US $4,605.55
Guess people want these after all. I didn't think it was going to sell.
As for the other comments.... It is good to be suspect, as Russ ascribes to. There are tons of rip-off artists in the world.
I guess it isn't fair to ask what you paid for that 68... but I suspect market value for it, unattributed but being what it is, would put you in a beautiful position. I doubt very much that mine will ever see that high of a grade (knowing the coins I've sent to PCGS I'd say 66 at best if it comes from my address
Edit to update :
Heritage auction for MS 67 in PCGS plastic at the 2007 ANA...
Over eleven grand including the juice
Just an FYI, I asked the above ebay seller how he was able to aquire two of these Sac's and didn't get an answer.
Don't know if it means anything, just letting you know.
