Every time I get a submission back with an 'Evidence of Trimming' card, I think about spending a couple hours digging through piles of records trying to figure out where I got it,
but then I figure I still wouldn't know for sure, and the guy I bought it from probably wasn't the guy who trimmed it anyway.
PSA tends to err on the side of caution. A lot of times the same card will go through the 2nd time it's submitted.
It's amazing that these 17 cards that were grabbed spur of the moment to even the submission out ended up being 8s and 9s except for the few min size/trimmed.

Not bad, but if you're going to trim cards, don't do it with sheep shears, it's way too noticable ...
