Dang. That's way out of my budget. It's a coin I'd like to buy too because I don't think I'm going to get my hands on that many (if any) original rolls to search. The 56-p brought over $6000. Wow! The 53-d brought $4300. I paid about the same for mine.
I'm not 100% sure but I think Andy told me today that he had a 35-S in the auction yesterday (Baltimore) and I believe that was his. I'm about 98% sure he told me that.
I bought my '35-S in a PCGS 66RD holder about two years ago for $255. I think it's PQ and I'm more than pleased with it. I'd love to see this 67RD next to mine so I could see why this one's worth almost $20,000 more. Of course, the pop on the 67 is 4, while the 66 is at 198, but really!!!

Edited to add: Ooops, I had thought this was about a $8000-10,000 retail coin. I am embarrassed to note that one sold in a Heritage auction recently for $18,400. My apologies to the consignor and buyer.

Me? I'm satisfied with a PQ MS66 that I bought for about $350. No way I can justify spending that for the coin. But somebody sure did!
wonder if my 66 will go 67?
