Has eBay's coin catagory deterioriated in recent months?

I haven't bought or sold any coins on eBay for nearly a year. I just did a few searches and was surprised to see how "junked up" the listings have become with severely overgraded coins and pseudo-auction buy-it-nows, etc.

I then did some searches on non-coin catagories and found much the same. In one case, involving a specific brand of artist's oil paint, there used to be no more than 10 listings. This time there were hundreds, virtually all buy-it-nows at what is basically full retail.

It is getting very difficult to actually find lots worth bidding on.
All glory is fleeting.

You just need to find the good sellers. They are out there.

291 Ebay just had a 10 cent fixed auction price listing promotion. Thats why you are seeing all of the Buy It Now listings. After a week about 90% of those will be gone.

the half eagle area has some nice coins but the amount of money
they are fetching is quite astonishing.

otherwise 95% of it is widget material 99% of the time.
