Re-holder question

Anyone ever send a card in to be re-holdered and it came back with a lower grade? I have a card graded by "314" that looks like it should not have been given a 10. I am afraid if I send it in to be re-holdered they might lower the grade.

thanks

Is there a problem with the holder? If that is the case, I bet you can have it done.

My understanding was that they don't re-grade the card at all if you submit at the re-holder level - you'll just get a new holder in the same grade no matter what. However, I guess it is possible that your card could get damaged in the re-holdering process. I’ve had no problems though.

TheThrill22, Yes the holder has some smudges on the inside that bug me. The card has some edge chipping on the front that may have happened when the card was in the holder. It does move around inside the holder and one of the chips lines up perfectly with one the holder borders where the corner cut-out begins.

Unless your slab looks like it was previously cracked and resealed, I think they simply reholder the card with the same flip. I know for sure that if they receive a slabbed card for any reason that looks like it's been tampered with, they will crack it and send it back to you in a Card Saver with a new flip stuck on it saying "MIN GRADE".

As your card is a 10, I would definately send it to be re-holdered. Who is the card of or is that a silly question?

Here it is. This was the card I was really excited to get. The top edge and right corner sucks(to put it nicely) and the left edge is rough as well. Also the junk you see is all on the inside of the slab.

Matt, I could be worse. Here is a graded 10! FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY! image

edit: P.S. Matt, if you live in an area where PSA does "shows", you may just want to "wait it out" and have it "re-holdered" in person, and save "all those shipping costs" associated with using mail to deliver the item to PSA/and the registered mail return costs, plus the PSA "built-in" handling costs, all that! ...in addition to the (is it still only?) $ 5.00 Re-holder charge.

Makes sense that he has the athletic tape with "Faulk" on his helmet so the coaches will all know who he is. I think all of the "hey you's" (you know, "hey you, get in there") have their name on their helmet in this manner.

But still a very cool card.
