As a collector I have questions myself. How do you tell the difference in Sovereigns? British from Auastralia what defines the difference. What does all those intials mean?




My next question is what is this item. This was a last minute bid. Tried to look it up in Krause before purchasing. But was unable to find it at the time. But it looked strange enough for me to buy. Impulsive shopper for sure? Now this morning I gave it another try looking for it. Found similar to it KM# 115. Krause says this thing should be silver. Not gold plated. Then to add to more confussion. NOTE: This coin was restruck without
Authorization by a mint die official using genuine dies – Quantity unknown.

I know nothing more, then I knew when I baught him. Other then he's not the most attractive fellow. Almost cartoonish looking. If anyone can tell me anything about this coin I really would appreciate it.

For the sovereign, look under the bust of Victoria. See a S or M? Sydney or Melbourne. No letter, than England. Can't tell for sure, but yours looks like an M.

For George V, look on the ground below the horse's hoof. See any letters? Could be SA, P, M, or C (anada)
