Mexico just beat the US 2-1 to oust America from the World Baseball Classic. Man I tell ya, the US team just sucked the whole way through this. image Not to take anything away from Korea, Mexico, etc. They are good teams!

  • What a pitiful display of talent by the US. Exactly how many major leaguers does team Mexico have?

    It doesn't matter.

As has been evidenced in the olympics, having 'big leaguers' be it in hockey, baseball, or basketball, doesn't make you the best team.

Pitiful display of talent? Way to give no credit to the winning teams, you dope.
  • damn, to bad, USA was practicing at my college(fullerton) i got to see studs for free
  • I'm glad to see that this tournament underscores the fact that Roger "The Mercenary" Clemens is NOT the center of the baseball universe.....Roger Rocket got beaten by a Mexican team comprised largely of minor-leaguers.

Unfortunately, this loss will not make Roger go away, he will still keep acting as though he's the white version of God's gift to baseball.......I don't have to mention who the black version is, do I?
  • I'll tell you, here in Japan there was a collective sigh of relief. Nikkei is back up, I think. Went down 200 plus points when Japan lost to ROK.

In fact, those Koreans have been hot, hot, hot!

And the ump everyone loves to hate now got himself a few more paragraphs for those wonderful eyes of his.

"Not even umpire Bob Davidson -- whose controversial call Sunday disallowed the potential winning run for Japan -- could help the United States.

In the bottom of the third inning, Mexico's Mario Valenzuela hit a fly ball that hit the right-field foul pole. Instead of ruling it a home run, Davidson ruled it a ground-rule double."

You folks don't think he's intentionally blowing those calls, do you?

Are you out of your mind?

He's the greatest pitcher of this generation, and is among the top 5 all time. I've never seen Rocket courting the media, doing anything to draw attention to himself. If the media wants to focus on him, how's he supposed to stop them? And can you blame the media for wanting to hype this guy? Does his job, never had an off the field incident, clean nosed, hard worker, pitches his brains out every night.

I bet if he had been a yankee all these years your feelings about him would be different. But because he retired from the yankees, then came back, you're all pissy.

    Grow up.

I just read an article that seems to indicate rewards are being dished out to the Korean players, and not some small "pat on the back". In South Korea this is a biggie.

<< <i>South Korea decided Friday to exempt national team members competing at the World Baseball Classic from mandatory military service as a reward for advancing to the tournament's semifinals.

South Korea beat Japan 2-1 Wednesday to clinch a berth in the semifinals of the inaugural baseball tournament.

The Defense Ministry will soon introduce a bill that exempts the players from the usual two-year compulsory military service, the ruling Uri Party said.

No, but it's the modus operandi for yankee fans to call someone overrated who isn't a yankee.

For anyone to say that Clemens is a diva who courts the media is plain and simple a hater.
