Guatemala Peso Question

I have been looking to pick up a late an 1890s peso from Guatemala but have noticed that there seem to be a lot of counterfeits being sold on ebay. Seems to be a $50 - $60 coin in UNC so I am not sure why I am seeing so many cointerfiets out there. I know that you have to be careful with US trade dollars from China but what is the deal with these counterfiets. See the auction below for an example.
