    Centering must be approximately 65/35 to 70/30 or better on the front

    I didn't do the measurements - if seems awfully close, at best. Certainly not an 8 that I would want to spend serious money on.
    I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    Whats the deal with the Namath that says it is a butterfly tattoo variation ? Ive never heard of that one..

  • The "Butterfly" variation is a print mark on the back of Namaths hand.

    I have a PSA 6 that looks EXACTLY like this card. I've always believed it should have been an 8OC, but the submitter requested No Qualifiers. If that's an 8, than I need to send mine in for review.

    I blew up the picture in Photoshop then used JR Screen ruler:

    Left border: 18
    Right border:25
    Total: 43

    LB=18/43=41%
    RB=25/43=59%

    That work out right?

    Funny, using the JR Screen Ruler I get approx 35 / 65 left to right centering.
    Not an 8 that I would care to own, but an 8 nonetheless.

    The JR Screen Ruler is a free download that is very handy for measuring a card's centering.
    Here's one site you can download it from, but there are others if this link doesn't work.

    When I blew the image up in Photoshop I noticed it had serious bleed due to the quality of the image. It was hard to tell where the borders ended and where they began.

    The problem is that due to the nature of the tallboy dimensions and thin borders, any shift to either side looks more dramatic than it would on a normal sized card. To me, that makes a nicely centered copy worth a premium in nearly any grade.
