    It's been claimed that these coins are bought by users and used in the production
    of consumer products. If true the mintages lose most of their meaning. Look for the
    coins that have traded close to the bullion value the longest yet still are relatively
    low mintage.

    It's always tough to guess what collectors will want. The proof platinums are spec-
    tacular and the uncs have a great luster. There are already some collectors of these
    so maybe their opinions would carry a lot more weight. image

    I never thought of the UNCs getting used for anything, but at close to bullion, it would make sense. I beleive, looking at another chart on the Yahoo Platinum site, that every single proof platinum coin issued is trading for more than the issue price, sometimes well above. (97, 98, 2004)
