I got taken on some unopened packs

Tough to admit, but I got taken by a seller of packs that I assumed were unopened. I bid and won a box of 1984 Donruss. When I received the box and started opening the packs, I noticed that there seemed to be some cards that showed some aging on the edges when I stacked them up. Then I noticed that some of the cards were factory cards. Factory cards did not come in wax packs. Also a couple of cards had creases and a pack had a torn wrapper.

I emailed the seller. No responses to two emails. I checked the seller's feedback. Since I put in my bid, there have been a few other buyers that state they have also been ripped off. That feedback was not there when I put in my bid, unfortunately.

If any of you are bidding or plan to bid on any auctions by angelssoppingaddiction, be warned that their items may not be what they appear. I don't want anyone else to get ripped off. I would love to go after this scammer, not just for my sake, but this kind of seller is bad for the hobby.

You are going to file a complaint with paypal right?

    Matt's right there.
You should put it all into words carefully and submit it to PayPal.
It doesn't matter if it's even for a few bucks, they shouldn't be able to get away with it.

Like you have heard so many times on these boards, "Know who you are buying unopened packs from." I am telling you all that I did not know the seller and got ripped off.

What also ticks me off is that there are good sellers out there and when sellers like this rip off collectors, it hurts all the sellers. I know I will be very carefull with sellers I do not know.

Was it a credit card transaction through paypal? If so you can contact your credit card and you wont pay a dime.

I was surprised to find out a while back that "unopened" packs were tampered with quite often. Not realizing that packs could be carefully opened, gleaned of star cards, and glued back shut full of worthless commons.
Just another step down on the decaying moral ladder we are forced to deal these days, especially on eBay. The old boxes weren't even shrink wrapped I don't think?, so it's hard to know what's "unopened and authentic"

Best of luck to you brother

I am sorry you got scammed by this jerk. I am happy and proud that you filed, it helps out a lot of people.

If you want unopened material, you can trust Krukcards and BBCExchange (sp?)--the latter has no negs and over 10 thousand transactions

I had one good experience with angelssoppingaddiction. I bought one vintage basketball pack a year or two ago, and got a nice PSA 8 Jabbar card out of it. Anyway, that is just my experience, and I certainly could believe that the same seller also sells some less-than-perfect stuff, either intentionally or unintentionally.

Tell me about it. I've had to go from a 10x magnifier to a 40x to find all of these re-colored vintage cards!!!!image

if the guy didn't put delivery confirmation or any other tracking info on the package, the easiest thing to do is to claim you never got it. It may be a lie, but you will get your money back that way for sure.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

I get what you mean, but this is not possible since the seller already has email from the buyer asking for a refund because of this and that......

Do this now, don't wait for later. You have to start the process early enough that it doesn't time out.

Ebay Item not Received or Significantly not as Descibed

It's a slow process but it does eventually work. I just went thru it.

The day they approved my claim, the guy who screwed me became NARU. It's worth doing it.

To bad there wasn't a scammer list on the board. Although I got scammed by a guy that switches his user id every time his feedback gets hit by his latest scammees image

Turn him in at ebay with the link I put in. The more complaints he gets the more chance he has to start over again with a new name and 0 feedback.
