Am I missing something ... check out this eBay bidding...

I'm still learning about eBay, but am I missing something here? Is this bidder in a bidding war with themself?

Check it out:

There might have been a higher bid that was retracted.

Might have been a reserve auction and he was bidding until reserve met. Not sure if these new style listings show that status. Otherwise, it makes no sense.

  • Forgot about the potential for a "Reserve." Maybe that's it.

It makes no sense to me...........................A bid retraction would be listed.....................If there was a reserve the auction would say reserve met.......image

I won a reserve auction a few weeks ago. I was the only bidder (3 bids) and it did say "reserve not met" before I hit the reserve--but then it did not say anything about the reserve after it was reached. It may be part of the new format changes eBay has been implementing this past month.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

If he is the only bidder the auction bid is the $22.00 why it shows $60 is beyond me. I have bid over myself and it has never raised me off of my first bid.
  • He probably put in his first bid and then put in protection bids, realizing his first bid was low. Someone comes in and outbids him and all his other bids show up. Unless of course there was a bid war with someone who got NARUed. I think once NARUed, everything gets wiped clean from Ebays records...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12
