New commemorative coin for Northern Ireland to be released on St. Patrick's Day

THE new £1 coin featuring Newry’s famous Egyptian Bridge is to be issued on St Patrick’s Day.
The coin will also be available from Friday in a special cover which will bear the unique postmark of “Newry, St Patrick’s Day”.
The cover design features a map of the Newry and Mourne area, together with a colourful insert card with stunning photography of Northern Ireland and a fascinating history of the bridge itself.
Barbara Roulston, the head of external relations at Royal Mail, commented, “I’m sure that this unique image of the Egyptian Arch Railway Bridge, together with the stamps on a limited edition cover, will be appreciated by everyone in Newry and Mourne.”
