I didn't add the 1968D FS because I know it costs more than 5 figures... some of the others are probably very close if not over the 5 figure mark, but it's unknown at this time.
Add all of those in the top pops... and someone would be very upset.
Steve >>
Good idea. How about some of the '82 circulating varieties?
<< <i>I'd go for the first modern coin, a 1836 reeded edge half dollar. >>
Can you get that for under five figures?
I like 1872 two cent 1882 - 87 nickel three cent in MS 1846, 64,65,66,67 half dimes in MS 1839-O half 1840 med letter half 1861-O "confederate obv" half 1878-CC trade dollar and finish off the box with 1840's proof half cents.
Remember I collect early material. Anything after 1836 when they started making those "buttons" on the steam press is modern as far as I'm concerned.
apparently some of yoos-guys missed the cut-off date by the OP wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back on the first page. nice to know your defintion of Modern but they just don't fit here, Mike.

Alden, 3/3/2011. God Bless them and all those who have lost loved ones in this war. I will never forget their loss.
Okay, I have a new list. These are either absolute rarities, or key dates to a nice gem set, so actual grade doesn't really matter. Some may cost over 5K but whatever...
1) a gem Bu 1963-d cent 2) a 1969-s DDO cent 3) a 1970-s DDO cent 4) a gem 1973-s cent 5) a 1990 No S proof cent 6) a Full Step nickel from 65 to 70d 7) a 1981-p full step nickel 8) 1971 No S proof nickel 9) a gem 1970 dime 10) a full band dime of whatever date is the toughest (83-p? 69-p?). If a 1970 is ever found it'd be that. 11) a 1982 NMM dime 12) a No S proof dime 13) a gem 1969 quarter 14) a gem 1983-p quarter (actually just a plain old BU of this is fine) 15) a gem 1971 half dollar (could pick like 1966 or 1969-d or 1982-p too) 16) a 74-d DDR half dollar 17) a Cam or Dcam Accented Hair 1964 Kennedy 18) a 1972 TII Ike 19) a gem 1976 TI Ike 20) a gem 1981-s SBA
I probably forgot something cool. A tough SMS coin would be neat. I'm not a fan of the 1999-date coins either, but those of you that like them could stick a few of them in there.
A 79 WR would be very cool. I chose an 81-s as my SBA rep. A Proof 1976 Ike would be an awesome coin to have in your box. That would cost a lot! I think Wondercoin owns the only one.

It's the only one known, there are supposed to be more. It's well outside of the price range though.

I didn't miss the cut off date. Everything in my box is "modern" and up to the cut off date. Nothing later.
