Have you heard of...

A Scageawa (sp) gold dollar with a washington quarter stamped on the front?? My buddy just called me asking about it and hes going to ship it to me so I can get some pics. He took it to a pawn shop (after being threatened by a couple grocery stores to call the cops for counterfitting) and they offered him $100 for it. I should have it in a few days to get some pics. He got it from a vending maching (the ones that accept $5 and give SBA's and gold dollars for change)

Let us know when you get it. A real one is worth about $80,000 in unc.

Be very suspicious of fakes made from machined coins.

A likely story! (Make sure your friend isn't B/Sing you image)

If it came out of the machine, and if it was real... I wouldn't say anything to anyone about it!

If it is genuine it could be worth up to $50K-$100K depending on condition.

  • He said the guy at the pawn shop looked at it under a maginifying glass. Told him that if it had been etched, stamped, or anything he wasnt interested... then assured him its legitimate. Ill let you guys know whats up when I get it.

Check for a seam just inside the rim on the obverse side. Hope it is real.image
