Can't wait to see what I missed on the Doug Harvey. The '66's were borderline 7's, so I don't mind these too much.

Request scans of the Dryden when you get a chance.
Again, great job!
Very nice and sorry about the 2 - I agree, paper loss that you missed?
What is the 70 Simpson gloss? Is it the same card as in the regular set?
I wouldn't mind seeing a scan when it comes in.
thanx for sharing
mike
Funny story about the Dryden. I was leaving Gibraltar about a month ago when I saw a guy with a stack of '71's talking to a dealer. I walked up to see what was going on, and it turned out the guy was a buddy of the dealer and was just having him look at his cards to see if they were worth anything. The rest of the stack was EX-MT at best, but the Dryden was an absolute blazer-- and not coincidentally the only card in a screw down. I asked him if he wanted to sell it, at which point he said he would but that his dealer buddy would tell him if I was trying to lowball him.
So, of course, I tried to lowball him, with an offer of around $75, but the dealer buddy was having none of it. He was one of those crusty old timers, but apparently he knew what his buddy had. We finally settled on $120, which was really high, since I knew I'd lose money if it came back an 8, but I thought it had a legitimate shot at a 9 and I was in the mood to gamble (nothing like buying high dollar cards under that low level lighting these expo centers have).
The Kemp and the OJ came from another dealer at Gibraltar whom I'm friendly with and the Howe came from Len at Platinum Promotions at the Expo in Toronto a few years ago.
Oh-- and yes, Mike, the OJ is one of those glossy cards that usually have horrible centering. That's another card I overpaid for, so I'm glad it came back mint.
For as large as the Gibralter show is, I am surprised how many dealers are clueless when it comes to grading. Oh well, their loss.
<< <i>Boo - You can get some nice raw cards at Gibralter. A while ago I bought a Scott Stevens RC from a dollar box and it came back a PSA 10, only the second one.

It is getting harder to find good stuff though. Three years ago I could pick just about any random 60's binder from a dealer and find no fewer than 20 cards that were PSA 8 candidates. Now I just bypass these altogether and look for oddball stuff that the rest of the vultures may have overlooked.
Are you setting up at the next Taylor show?
