Top-pop rarity! 1939 Rev. of '40 Jefferson PCGS PR66CAM

Got this baby on consignment. Certified PCGS PR66CAM. Probably about as CAM as can be without getting a DCAM. Asking $17K or best offer. Interested? Let me know! Probably the only one that will ever grade as cameo...1939 Jeffersons are one of the tougher pre-1950 proof coins to see any contrast...let alone with the much scarcer reverse of 1940.

Light creamish patina on the reverse around 8 o'clock. Otherwise a super lovely coin.

I can't say I'm interested in this coin...but I will say that Morris is a great guy to deal with. His inventory is always full of great proof coins! I'm just waiting for his MS lincoln inventory to beef back up image

easy pr67cam with some professional touch up on the lower reverse! Awesome coin!

Great looking coin, but I suspect that if the coin was a 1950-70 proof or SMS coin or a post 1971 proof coin, it would not be given a CAM designation by PCGS.

Anyone agree or disagree with my thought on this?

    Great coin.

I see the coin as a solid PR66 grade level. The cameo on the obverse is all there. The frosting looks a little spotty on the reverse, but the mirrors would play a strong role. Hard to tell on the mirrors from the photo, but the indication is for strong mirrors. I can see a fairly graded cameo rating if the mirrors are strong.

I don't see a PR67Cam though even with a touch up due to the frosting breaks.

Just based on coins I have graded at those levels.

You are all too kind...thank you for the nice compliments. Coin is a solid cameo...no question! Best mirrors I have seen on any pre war proof coin.
