I got a $250 coupon from Heritage today. Anyone else get one of these recently? I was one of the folks bidding in the Reiver online sale that closed, then opened, then closed. I had some "overpayment issues" (for wins that ended up not being wins) and it took multiple calls to get a refund. I never expected more than a check for the overpayment. Is this typical Heritage customer service? If so, that's pretty sweet.
Update 3/16: The first person I called (the one that signed the coupon) never called back. Spoke to another person today at Heritage. I learned that the coupon was a matching amount for an order I placed for a catalog. Since I did not order $250 worth of catalogs (but did order $100 worth of catalogs recently), I was perplexed. Further investigation shows that Heritage charged my credit card $270 (tax on the $250 worth of catalogs that I didn't order). So now I have the promise of investigation and follow up. All I want is the catalogs I ordered for $100.

That's a good question. If they are sending the coupon for the auction closing problem, many would be entitled to one. If they are sending the coupon to make up for promising (multiple times) and not then not sending my refund (or calling back the same day of each call with a decision), then I guess the numbers entitled to some sort of "we're sorry" coupon would be smaller.
When a customer orders an auction catalog, Heritage also automatically sends the customer a coupon in an amount equivalent to the price of the catalog ordered. That's what happened to me. Unfortunately, Heritage's web site had a mistake. I ordered two catalogs that had been priced on the web site at $50 each. The real price of the catalogs should have been $125 each. That explains the $250 coupon and (state tax considered) the $270 charge on my credit card. I sent the link that I used to order the catalogs and Heritage saw the erroneous price. After noting their error, they told me they would issue a credit on my charge card and let me keep the $250 coupon as a thank you for being a Heritage customer. This is the way to do customer service. Heritage receives my commendation for their commitment to doing the right thing.
By the way, for those looking for a "rip" on a catalog, Heritage fixed the price within minutes of my sending them the link!
