precautionary storage question

I'm having exterminators come in tomorrow and they have said I would need to leave the house for 2-3 hours after they finish. I'm not exactly sure what chemicals they will be using, but are there any precautionary storage issues I need to take with my coins? I dont have anything of serious value anyway, but I'd rather not ruin the little bit I have.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • why not just take them with you when you leave??

  • I thought of that, but I'll be going to dinner and shopping to kill the time. I was just curious if there were other ways I could safely keep from lugging them around.
  • If you don't have to many, how about putting them in a garbage bag.

Note: Put garbage bag of coins in closet, not garbage can.

  • put them in the freezer
  • Not the freezer! When you pull them out, you'll likely have moisture condense on them, which
    could be very bad!

If they are just going to spray around the base boards, it's no big deal.
I would probably hang around and lock up the place myself.

If they start setting up a tint to fog the place, I would grab my coins and run. image

Not in freezer also because if you forget you may end up bar-b-queing them some day. Also, I've heard TV dinners effect coins as well as humans. Don't you have a relative to leave them with? What about a so called trusty neighbor? How about letting the exterminators hold them for you? No safe deposit box? You could just leave them in your house as is but remember all the presidents on the coins will die from the poison from the exterminator. Do you have a cloths dryer? If you do, fill your coins with several garbage bags and put them in the dryer. Leave the dryer off. Why not just postpone the shopping and dinner and sit in your car with the coins? Bury them in your back yard if you have one. Do you have a garage? If so put them in there.
