In Ike dollars the 72-s silver PR70 DCAM shows a pop 23 with -4 available...............

Maybe they were purchased by players, bringing the availability down to zero, then someone turned in smoe certs and the pop was adjusted downwardly.

Or the population was adjusted due to grade guarantee submissions.

    From the "Help" page:

<< <i>Note that for PCGS World Series of Coin Trading purposes, it is possible for the available Population to go negative. For example, if the Population is 10, and someone buys all 10, and then a dealer or collector turns in two inserts and the PCGS Population goes down to 8, then the available Population for the PCGS World Series of Coin Trading would go to negative two, and you would have to wait until more than two coins of that issue were "sold" before the "Available Population" figure turned positive. >>

  • OK that makes sense , but how would a cert for a "perfect" coin (pr70dcam)
    wind up turned in ?

i bet it is a database update issue ... the requests to 'purchase' coins were not kept in complete synchronization with the 'quantity' available... resulting in the negative available number.

just a thought since it is not likely that 70's were turned in or crossed over

Crossed into NGC by someone who wants to keep all his coins in NGC holders.
