"Groovy" Lincoln error

I have a 1955-d Lincoln with a groove around the edge. It also has an abnormally wide rim that obliterates the "L" in Liberty. I'm getting ready to send some other coins off to ANACS and I'm wondering if it's worth including this one. Thanks in advance.
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!

    Can you provide any pictures?

Do you have a picture? Sounds like just a worn die and not worth submitting to any grading service as it is not an error.

Sounds like a railroad rim,but would have to see a picture.

I tried taking photos, but I wasn't able to get anything that looked like what I was asking about. I'm inclined to think that it may just be a worn die as well. Thanks.

Nice picture. Yep, that's what I've got. Is it worth sending it in to ANACS?

That is damage from being "encased", it is often mistaken for either a small broadstrike or a type-1 planchet (I made both mistakes a few times until someone set me straight). I know you've seen those keychains or medalions that say "Lucky Penny" or the like, it is essentially an aluminum casting into which is pressed a genuine cent. When you pop the cent out of the aluminum casing, that is what the rim will look like. Quite often there is a ring going around the coin just inside the rim, that is damage left over from the press.

Just to common. Keep it though. Error coins of all kinds are going up rediculously. Simple offsets are even going for almost triple of what they were a year ago.
