Worst curse for a collector.

A dog that loves cardboard.

I am dying here. She has chewed threw unopened packages and killed some sweet 1956 cards. Last night she tore through 2 vedning boxes I had sitting by the foot of my desk.

These are the only 2 incidents and I think it is due to thunder as both times of destruction there was a storm the night before.

I have too much stuff and too little space to always have everything out of her reach.

Just wanted to vent about a curse on this collector.

I feel your pain Zef......about a year ago I had one of our cats get into the room where my cards are stored and she decided to pee all over a box containing a mid grade 1960 topps set.

Zef, Go to the Pet Store and buy some stuff called bitter apple, Once that dog gets a taste of that they will find something else to chew on !

my 2 year is basically the same. i have to keep all my cardboard out of his curious, little fingers.

in fact, i keep him out of the area my stash is located, but my wife sometimes forgets and lets him wander, but i cant control that....

My wife's african parrot got out and was walking about the floor and found one of my 3500 count boxes. Ate on
it for a while before I found out what was going on. Lucky I didn't loose anything like you did.

Hmmmm. We have 3 cats and I have stacks and stacks of vintage 50's and 60's cards sitting on my desk. They have never touched them, because they know better. Most of my other stuff is stored out of sight.

Bitter Apple does work, by the way.

Also a compelling argument to get everything graded. Kind of hard for a pooch to gnaw on a holder.

Funny, she actually did chew on a slab once. It was a PRO slab and I think those can survive a nuclear war. Slab was damaged a little however the card was not.

I won't get rid of the dog, I will just have to keep things out of her reach.

Just kidding, I actually like animals. Especially when they are owned by someone else.

Zef, My wife does scrapbooking and bought four shelf units with doors that lock. If you have room this might be a good option.

Its easy to say that I would give my dog a boot in the a$$ for chewing on my cards, but my dog is a bullmastiff so I must be sure not to pi$$ him off!!! "Here boy...... try these 87 Topps."

    Zef -

Are you sure the dog didn't neatly trim off the bottom edge of the card in the PRO holder? That might be PRO's excuse going forward!
