He complains about PSA grades, and yet when he sells raw cards they are so grossly overgraded to the point of being worthless.
Worst deal I ever got ripped off on. PSA exists because of dealers like him overgrading raw cards. He just doesn't like grading.

Well, you gotta admit, it's a darn nice looking 4:

He wasn't too happy with his 5 and his 7OC either. Must be that stinkin' 904 grader.

I suspect a back scan will tell a different story. You don't get a 4 out of corners like that, there must be more going on.

We all know that card has a wicked surface wrinkle that is not being mentioned... nice looking card, but it'll be a 4 or 5 every time.

If the guy really thought it was a sure shot 7, is anyone here really going to believe he wouldn't either resub or just crack it and sell it raw?

There could be a vertical crease just to the right of the midline, towards the top. Anyone see this?

yeah who knows. I have purchased some low grade cards off this seller before without any problems. However, the cards were probably PSA 1 or 2, so nothing that people can really lie too much about. This seller routinely sells 1935 National Chicle's so I am always looking at his auctions.

It looks like that line might be on the scanner. On my screen you can see a faint line running all the way up through the second 'c' in Chicle on the flip.

I asked for a scan of the back. I received 2 different responses about 1 hour apart. They are as follows.

20 min after I asked - The back is BLUE TEXT not to worry there and there is no damage on the back my scanner is down. I have 2 complete sets of chicles that will eventually be up there

1 hour later - If you are getting it to upgrade it you are home free back is clean. I have it in storage after I scanned it in this group up there.

I wonder what the real story is.

Maybe there's evidence that the card was subjected to moisture. I don't mean water stains, mind you. Just evident that the card may have been damp at one time. I'm not familiar with the normal print quality of this issue, but the "faded surface" look reminds of a card that had been wet at one time and dried out. This also has the tendency to flatten out apparant surface creases sometimes, making the card look better than it should.

I'm sensing a wrinkle to the left side of the card.
If it had been damp at one time, it would fail the smell test.image
