Is ANACS service really that bad?

I sent packages to ANACS and PCGS for regular service on the same day. Coincidently, I received both graded packages back on the same day. The ANACS package contained a letter of apology for the delay and offer of two free coin gradings if used by the end of April. With PCGS, it was just business as usual. Every business that grows or changes has pains. I was satisfied with how they addressed them.

By the way, I like the new slab.

It seems to me poor service is expected with PCGS. Good service has been the norm with ANACS. It's been a little shaky recently (understandably) due to staff changes, impending relocation, etc.
  • I sent an email to ANACS about 5 days ago asking how I should proceed with a scarce ANACS encapsulated Barber 25¢ that has PVC green spots.
I have yet to receive a reply.

It seems to me if they are going to be unavailable during a move or whatnot, that they could at least advise users of that fact on the website, and have an automated email reply indicating they had rec'd. communication and reply would be forthcoming.

I sent them a box of coins last week , hope it doesnt become a fiasco!

  • The info I got was that ANACS has pushed back the move and willbe opening on or around April 3rd. The new office renovation is taking longer than expected
