Boston Show NewPS: 1878 8TF Morgan.....VAM19 Doubled Date

This coin is very prooflike in its appearance. It is an 8TF but I'm having trouble with the VAM attribution. The date and all the Obverse stars are at least doubled. Liberty is doubled. Dollar on the reverse is doubled as well. Any help with the ID would be appreciated. Alos feel free to express your opinion on the grade.

I dont know the VAM, but I'll go MS61PL,is that a weak rev. strike on the eagles breast and between the legs?

    That's a VAM 19 "Doubled Date".

You can confirm the attribution by checking for a small die gouge under the eyelid on the obverse and also look for a few small die chips inside of the O in ONE on the reverse.
  • Based on what I can see it appears to be a Vam-19. Reverse looks like the A2/A1b which would narrow it down to the 19 or 23. The obverse stars appear to be doubled/tripled and there are some other markers I recognize. Grading is tough from a pic but I would agree with the previous....maybe 62.

The die chips are in the O and the die gouge under the eyelid. Thanks. The coin looks much better in hand than in the photo.
