Does anyone know when Charley Conerly died?

I can't find the info anywhere. Are there any good sites that gives the bio for former players?

Regards,

Dumb question, but are you sure he's dead?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Now that I've looked at the web site, it doesn't list the date of death. If you look at Reggie White, there is not a date of death listed. Anyone else know?

I'm easy to find - just follow the mountain of yellow envelopes.

I just arrived home from China yesterday from adopting my daughter, and I had at least 25 yellow envelopes waiting for me. I was up until 5 in the morning sorting through the cards and updating my sets. My wife says I have an illness - she has a good point image

I guess that he's still alive unless he is speaking through a medium...

Greg, I just went and asked a few buddies of mine on a Giants message board, One of the resident members there said he beleives he is still alive and that he lives in New Jersey somewhere.

Thanks - I appreciate everyone's comments (except wolfy - j/k). That's why I love the PSA boards!! I was asking because I bought 15 1957 Topps Archive cards which I plan on sending out TTM. I started out buying a Lou Creekmur card, because I can find any nice autographed ones for my HOF auto set, and ended up buying 15 different players that I'll send out for autographs (hopefully...).

wikipedia link to connerley death >>

Thanks for the link. I was sorting through the 1956 and 1957 Topps Archive sets to send cards TTM for autographs. It's hard to find out which of the players are alive and which are deceased.

Maybe I should make a wikipedia page for my grandma, then Wolfbear could bring her back, too.
  • wolfbearwolfbear Posts: 2,759 ✭✭✭

On wikipedia's Elvis page they shows him as being dead too.
Yeah right, then how come I saw him coming out of a Quickie Mart the other day?

Guess I'll have to edit that page too ... image

Greg PM me the names of the guys you need and I'll look em up...You know me and TTMs lately, I've had over 200 Successes since I started 11/30/05.

On the Cappeletti card too, from the other site, I really want to trade him for either another AA Retired auto or Heisman auto I don't have.

I know Stan Jones signs TTM, just got him on that Archives card and it is sweet.

Thanks GlynRParson - I looked in a book I have,
'Total Football II', and it confirms the same date of death so I went back to Wikipedia and made him dead again.

    RIP Charley ...
