Waiting time before Re-Grade ? ? ?

Just recieved a grade back on a coin that I figured as a lock at 1 grade higher. Should I send the coin right back for a re-grade or is that fruitless since the coin has just been seen? Any experience with immediate re-grading?? All opinions appreciated, Thanks

  • Crack it out and try again. Don't do a regrade this quickly. Just my 2 cents.

Crack it out instead of in the holder??? I thought they cover the original grade so it has no bearing on the outcome.
  • Any other opinions?

After reading all the posts about how PR takes a month or so its kind of a last option. Im just not sure if it is a waste of time to try one more time immediately after getting the coin back, and should I crack it out or send it in the holder?

Also, I originally went with the 5 day service, If I go with the walkthrough 2 day service will there be different graders who handle the coin?

    Thanks for all the help.

Provided it qualifies. Walk Through, Express or Regular service and with in 30 days of returned order with a copy of the original PCGS invoice. Its possible to bypass this but it takes a lot of begging and whining! Been there, done that!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Can I ask what the coin is, and what grade you are trying for?
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

PCGS grades well over 100,000 coins per month. Does it really seem plausible that your coin is going to stand out in that sea of submissions in the graders' memories?

Send it right back in for regrade in the holder.
    When in doubt, don't.

Good point. The coin is an 1875 PR 20 Cent piece. Came back 64 Cameo, I felt that it was a lock 65 and shot 66, the cameo was not for sure and was also up for grabs. I figure its worth a hundred to try the walkthrough one more time, since it is just a gamble and I have lost much more in blackjack it seems rather reasonable. When I get the coin back I take a photo before I send it off and gather some opinions.
