What are the raised lines on the reverse of this large cent?

Looks like a clash of some sort.

Hmmm... I'm not sure what the seller means by this statement, but those sure don't look like clash marks.
Since they're raised, they must have been on the die. Perhaps some sort of damage from a tool in the mint.

Who knows from that far back but looks like the die was droped on a file.

They are die scratches. I have a coin with similar markings, albeit a different date:
Collector of Large Cents, US Type, and modern pocket change.
