Ebay auction won but yet to receive - how long before you start to worry?

I won an auction on March 1. As of March 10 I have not received item (just less than $300). I emailed seller asking for a tracking number once with no response. His feedback is 100% with over 250 feedback. However, only has 6 positive feedback since July 2005 so he appears to have been inactive for a while. Noone else winning his auctions during same time frame as me has left feedback. How long before you would start to worry?

Can you give us a link to the auction?

    Use Paypal???

Some people only ship once a week.......so 10 days is not unreasonable......

  • Yes, I did use paypal. The 10 day wait doesn't bother me, but a seller who disappears after the sell does.

Ten days and no response after your inquiry may rise a red flag. The no response would bother me more.Sometime depending on the seller or postal service items often are delayed.I once purchased a card from a known seller that took 6 weeks from the post date to arrive and in the meantime he was able to send me a simalar card figuring the other one must have been lost and he wanted to make good although he was not obligated to.Once I recieved the original card I sent it back to the seller. These things can and do happen on occaision however the seller should always give you the courtesy of a response to your inquiry.

I have had items take over 14 days to arrive. If the seller is a high volume seller then I would understand. I know some of these people must be quite busy, but it does kind of grind me on how people do not have the courtesy to answer an e-mail.

......agree that courtesy with return email is appropriate.......but there could be a reason he has not replied...........Having paid with paypal gives you an outlet for getting your money back, if indeed this guy is bogus

He wasn't obligated to send you what you paid for?

I have had sellers indicate no insurance no responsibilty.I did not request insurance as it was only an option.

Sellers that 'indicate' that are FOS.

    Good for you.
  • Well, the card arrived today with delivery confirmation. Shipping was suppose to be $5 including insurance. If it was insured it was not insured through USPS. I believe the seller just pocketed the difference.
