would prefer slightly better centering, but the corners, edges and colors look pretty good

Overall, a solid 10 for sure.

I'd take a 9 and keep the rest for other nice cards.
  • What's wrong with the centering? that is a solid ten if i ever saw one.

I said I would prefer slightly better - I didn't say anything was 'wrong' or 'inadequate'. But it sure ain't 50/50.

It's not 50/50 in either direction - and for $3700 it sure had better be. image

I agree! I like the card but now that the smoke has cleared? Not for that kind of money - that's what I would want to spend for the entire set!

    Is this a registry competitor?

i think the leading bidder is just a pete rose fan. they picked up a 9 for only 200 bucks.

Since I have never owned a 10 of any kind I cant really say however the card sure appears to own all the characteristics of a 10.

May be. But there are very few Pete Rose fans out there with the cajones to outbid Jeff Korth, whose Rose collection is phenomenal.

i checked out his rose basic set and it is nice. how much did the rose rookie and 71 topps psa 10's go for?

I thought the Bench 10 looked better than the Rose 10 as far as centering. And it went a lot cheaper.

...Just ONE MORE example on the never-ending list of examples of the incredible difference in price/value between a PSA 9 and PSA 10 of a 1970's baseball or football card. WOW!!!image

For all the PSA nay-sayers, this is proof positive PSA is great for the hobby. Think about it. If it wasn't for PSA, that Rose would sell for how much? But because 4 sharp corners hit the PSA 10 lottery, they've made the owner of a Set Registry very happy!

Seller wins, buyer wins and the hobby is stronger. image
